I first came across a picture similar to this on Reddit and thought, “No way. This is satire. VEGAN WATER??”
After some simple searching I came across this ad directly from Prestige’s Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/prestigesmartkitchen) where they are paying real money to get real customers to really buy their product with the intention of consuming vegan water.
According to Merriam-Webster, vegan is defined as:
noun ˈvē-gən also ˈvā- also ˈve-jən or -ˌjan
: a person who does not eat any food that comes from animals and who often also does not use animal products (such as leather)
And when I last checked, water doesn’t contain animal products. Or it shouldn’t. If there’s some hamburger floating around in your water I trust you’re already alerted to that being odd.
But in the age where anything sells I guess this is a legitimate attempt but is simply cashing in on a fad. But there’s a difference between true game-changers and those that follow the crowd and bandwagon. And since you read this blog I trust that you, the reader, are already smart enough to differentiate 🙂
